The amphitheater was so very huge for such a small town.
It was odd to walk down the hill to get behind stage when everyone was staring at us. Both teenagers and adults pointed at us and whispered behind their hands. Were the curious or did they feel confused by our sudden appearance?
We ignored them all and helped each other out; Rose carefully pushed the amp on its wheels down the hill, I carried Dolan’s guitar for him, and Logan held some magic equipment (homemade, of course). “Eryn?” Kara whispered.
“Yeah?”

“It’s all your fault,” Rafe snapped at Dolan as I helped him place his right arm into a makeshift sling made of one of the hospital’s towels.
“My fault?!” Dolan barked as Rose gently placed her hands on his chest. “You’re the one who asked for it!”
“When did I ever ask you to break my arm?!”
“Right after you snapped a few of my ribs!”
“Shut up!” I yelled at both of them. “Look, it’s over! Deal with it!” Looking up at Rose, I asked, “How many of his ribs are broken?”

“Hey, check this out,” Rose said the next morning. She was holding the newspaper that she had stolen from outside.
“Read it to us,” I said as I picked up the wrappers we had left from breakfast.
